ABOUT BRIAN BURWELL

 

   Brian Burwell was born and raised in the small town of Scottville, Michigan. He picked up his first pair of drumsticks as a teen, worked at a drum company after high school, played and excelled locally in bands. He quickly found his calling in the world of pro drumming and moved his way out to Los Angeles, California. Since then he has enjoyed a successful career as a live performer & studio musician.
 
   When he first arrived in Hollywood in 1994, one of his first major recording sessions Brian had was with Michael Bolton, recording the top 40 hit "Safe Place from the Storm". The band's CD achieved RIAA "GOLD" Status.
 
   Brian was then drafted as the drummer for the band NEVE on Columbia Records. The Bands hit single "It's Over Now" was also featured on "The Faculty" soundtrack & was used on the music video selling over 475,000 units.
 
   He has since played on over a thousand recordings and has performed all over the world, sharing the stage with KISS , Rage Against the Machine , STYX ,  ZZ Top , Duran Duran , The Nelson Brothers ,
The Drills , Savannah Nix  and countless others.

  Brians drumming style is extremely versatile, making him a great house drummer for the American Music Awards for the past 9 years and has served th Academy of Country Music Awards in the same capacity for the last 4 years and has recorded for the Billboard Music Awards.
 
   Brian often performs under the stage persona "DogBoy" A nickname that has stuck with Brian for years and Brian admits "Many fans still only know now me as "DogBoy" and not by my real name".
 
   Brian loves sharing his skills with young musicians and has been teaching/creating young talented students for over ten years. Brian also has served as a Competition Judge for several Guitar Center Studio  "Drum Offs".
